Museum Time!

This is the Huntarian Museum. A man in the 1800's started to collect dead things. He collected them to see all the body parts and how they worked. He also collected body parts of animals. He dissected the body parts to learn how they were made. They wanted to know more becuase it was fascinating, and it would help them in surgery. There was some gross stuff like bones, blood and surgery and stuff - that i felt sick in the end. i wanted to get out. W also saw an irish giant. it was a skeleton of a man that lived a few hundred years ago - and he was HUGE. and a tiny skeleton as well. Anotomy is when you study to body and its internal workings. 

We went to a Science Museum. This is some gloves that would  astronauts would wear. In space, austronauts have to do a lot of tricky things and science experiemtns, but they always are in their space suit, except for inside.   I had to screw a bolt and a screw together. it was hard. I saw heaps of rockets and also space food. When I saw the rocket I thought it was a missile.

This was at the Natural History Museum. Natural History is the history of nature and the earth. At this part of the museum, I learnt about the evolution of humans. We saw old skulls that were 200 000 years old! They were Neanderthals. The human race has changed over time. We survived because we had a big brain and were able to adapt. We are still adapting. We have got taller and we are living longer all the time. It might be possible to live to 1000 years old one day. We saw a lot of skulls and bones at this exhibition. It wasnt scary for me because I have seen a lot of skulls over the world.

This is the Natural History Museum. You take a big elevator up into the earth core. This is fake - its not the real earth core. If it was we would die. The earth is always changing - the earth changes through earth quakes and volcanoes, tsunamis 

This is me drawing in the natural history museum. I was making  a dinosaur drawing.  In this section of the museum there was a big collection of drawings - this were called botanical illustrations. They would draw plants and animals to document them because they wanted to. There were no photographs then, and they wanted to learn more about each plant and animal.

This is some of the animals in the Natural History Museum. They are mammals. Did you know a whale was a mammal? Mammals are warm blooded, they give birth to babies,  and they have hair. They also feed their babies with milk. And they breath air. Its strange a whale is a mammal. This was a blue whale and it was huge. 140000 kgs.

This was an exhibition about the body. There were different parts - like memory, imagination, emotion, growing, movement, and how the body works. When you are a child, you use your imagination a lot. Like a chair can be a rocket ship. I pretended a chopstick was a wand. I like imagination. Imagination is really important, especially when  your trying to make up a story. 

Me at the British Museum. Today I am going to see my friend Joshua and he is coming to my place. We are meeting at the British Museum. We are going to learn about the Iron Age.
