welcome to Marrakech
We flew to Marrakech, which is a city in Morocco. Morocco is in Africa. The houses are made out of mud. It was compressed. The people are very nice. But they are quite poor as well, so they like to also sell you things. The people are muslim mostly. They go to prey in mosque five times a day, from 6am to 8pm. The muslim people believe in Mohamed. And they believe in looking after family, love and peace. A lot of people here haven't gone to school, so they don't know how to read and write. I reckon it would be pretty hard not to read and write. They can't read comics and things that they like.
when we were at the market we found cool but weird stuff like real people selling teeth and fake teeth it was very creepy.
also there were fresh fruit juices when we had one it was very yumy and the scariest part is were the snake charmers but the sad thing is the people drugged them plus pull there fangs out. We saw children doing acrobatics. They were fantastic. We also saw acrobatic monkeys, they had nappies on and they would do back flips. Mum kept screaming with all of the snakes and monkeys. The market is called souk, it is very loud. The snake charmers have flutes that never stop. And there is drumming, and then people gather to hear story telling. These are told in arabic, or berban. I have never been somewhere so crazy. I felt a little bit scared and shocked when I saw this crazy place.
mum wanted to go to this museum and we found pictures of people playing music it looked very interesting for me. These people were drumming in order to get people into a trance state - like they are half dead and half alive, sort of like zombies.
we had a snack and it was very yummy. People use a lot of donkeys and mules to carry stuff in the markets, because no cars are allowed. But bikes go through, and sometimes they go very fast, I reckon it could get really dangerous.
The old city was crowded places. We did lots of walking. We were walking and we saw a man with a wheel barrow. All of the sudden he reached for my hand, but then he flipped me down onto the ground. Mum yelled, and then Dad yelled, and pulled my close. A lot of people gathered and they pushed him out of the way. And then this other man tried to help us, but we didn't need the help. He just wanted money. I didn't feel scared because I have traveled a lot, but mum was shocked and so was Dad. Dad's face went white! But the man was just crazy in the mind. But we then left.
In Morocco, they have things called Tajines. Itoften meet and vegetables and the cook it in a strange shaped dish. It is really yummy, its really healthy too becuase of all the vegetables. They also eat a lot of bean soup. This is yummy too. I also like to eat couscous here. I love to eat couscous in Australia, so its so good to eat it here too. They eat a lot of dates - the dates a really sweet and juicy. They have walnuts as well. When you first taste them you hink its disgusting, but then they taste great. They come in a hardshell which I smash on the floor to open. I have enjoyed becuase its very yummy. They have really good sweets - but some aren't so great.
